Description
It is the 16th game of the Tales series launched by Bandai Namco in 1995 on SNES console. Tales of Berseria had its premiere on PC in 2017 and was released to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the brand. Thefirst time in the history of the Tales series the developers introduced the female protagonist, abandoning themulti-annual traditional approach.
The main character of Tales of Berseria was designed by Mutsumi Inomata, aveteran of character design in The Tales series. Thanks to cooperation with the famous Japanese animation studio,they have presented another epic jRPG, with an emotional storyline and spectacular cut-scenes, all this inunique, Japanese style.
Storyline
The story presented in Tales of Berseria takes place a thousand years before the events in Tales of Zestiria. Thegame takes players to the Kingdom of Midgand made up of many isles scattered on the endless ocean.Inhabitants of these lands have become masters of sailing and building advanced, incredibly fast and maneuverableships. During the adventure, the players take the role of young woman Velvet which once kind and innocent,due to traumatic events from the past, have become full of irrepressible anger and hatred. She joined the crew ofpirates, in a search of adventure and self-discovery.
Gameplay
Tales of Berseria is a TPP, RPG game in which players observe the action from the third-person perspective andexplore the diverse, fully three-dimensional world, divided into separate locations. During the exploration of theworld, players may encounter various enemies and initiate a duel upon contact. Tales of Berseria uses the LinearMotion Battle System or LMBS for short.
It has been in use ever since the first game of the seriesand it’s one of the most recognizable aspects of The Tales. It is the system in which all characters can move on thebattlefield and cooperate with each other during the duels. LMBS ties characters to a plane of movementallowing them to move closer or further to the enemy, imitating gameplay of early fighting games. Tales of Berseria game also allow playing with up to 4 friends using a local co-op multiplayer.
